Everyone loves food. The Cotswolds has some of the best food, drink and Chefs in the country. The Cotswold Chef™ has now linked with many of the food heroes, people and characters that bring the local food scene alive. These special people are ready to give you the behind the scenes view of their business allowing you to connect with the food that will fill your hungry tummies. Each day begins with Champagne and then it's into the action with many of them concluding with a cookery demonstration by The Cotswold Chef™ team. All sessions are bespoke and are dependent on producer availability and seasonality. If you want to do it we can arrange it!

Culinary Experiences
for 3, 5 and 7 days

These unique packages provide clients with a chance to really get under the skin of a thriving British food culture showcased by some amazing farmers, food producers, chefs and hoteliers in the famous Cotswolds. By travelling just over an hour from central London you can be in this iconic landscape, surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful towns like Cheltenham, Cirencester and Tetbury. Hosted by The Cotswold Chef™ Rob Rees MBE and his team of associates you get to learn from one of the best Britain has to offer - former award-winning chef and now one of the country's most respected purveyors of food education, quality and standards. Your package will be fun, interactive, engaging, tasty and great value for money.

All packages are named after Gloucestershire apples of which there are literally hundreds of varieties dating back thousands of years! Arrive at leisure the night before at your Cotswold hotel of choice and after a Cotswold breakfast using some of the finest local sausages, bacon and eggs travel to our “food hub” to start your food experience.

Each day starts at 10.30am and finishes by 5.00pm.

The Cotswold Chef™ The Ashmead Experience £550 pp/3 days
INCLUDES: a copy of The Cotswold Chef: A Year in Recipes and Landscapes, e-recipes and a jar of Kitchen Garden jam for each participant.

Day 1: An introduction to local delights at The Cotswold Chef™Food Centre including a personal cookery demonstration by The Cotswold Chef™ Rob Rees MBE, a tutored cheese tasting and a practical hands-on cookery session learning about classic British puddings such as spotted dick and jam roly poly.

Day 2: A visit and 2 hour session working the land of Abbey Home Farm – one of the first organic farms in the Cotswolds where tradition and quality has pride of place. Enjoy the experience on the farm and then indulge in a light lunch before transferring back to The Cotswold Chef™ Food Centre to learn and prepare a traditional English afternoon tea.

Day 3: A chance to learn all about sustainable fish cookery at The Cotswold Chef™ Food Centre - get to enjoy some Cerney freshwater crayfish, Cornish hake and many other fish as you learn to prepare and cook some delicious dishes.

The Cotswold Chef™ The Pippin Experience £850 pp/5 days
INCLUDES: a copy of The Cotswold Chef: A Year in Recipes and Landscapes, e-recipes, a jar of Kitchen Garden jam and a Duchy Originals gift for each participant.

This package includes The Ashmead Experience plus:

Day 4: Spend half a day with The Cotswold Ice Cream Company in Northleach. This is England's only Fairtrade ice cream-maker where the milk goes from cow to carton in 24 hours. Get to experience milking the cow and turning your ice cream into some of the best in the country. Then its back to The Cotswold Chef™ Food Centre to have a fun afternoon with award-winning cupcake company Cirencester Cupcakes and a tasting of some of the Cotswolds' finest micro brewery produced beers such as Muddy Wellies, Old Spot, Cotswold Way and Tom Long.

Day 5: This day is all about meat and British classics. The day will start at The Cotswold Chef™ Food Centre where Dave from Chesterton Farm Shop will demonstrate the best value cuts of meat available on the market today. Then it's time to get cooking some slow cooked dishes like confit of duck, pot roasted pork belly and braised lamb shanks, as well as learning how to make classics like steak and kidney pudding and Cornish pasties.

The Cotswold Chef™ The Foxwhelp Experience £1,200 pp/7 days
INCLUDES: a copy of The Cotswold Chef: A Year in Recipes and Landscapes, e-recipes, a jar of Kitchen Garden jam, a Duchy Originals gift and a signed chef’s jacket for each participant.

This package includes The Pippin Experience plus:

Day 6: We will be joined by one of the country's leading cheese makers, Melissa Ravenhill, to spend the day learning about and making cheese. The Cotswold Chef™ Rob Rees MBE will then demonstrate how to make the perfect cheese souffle using cheese like Three Virgins or Scary Mary, as well as some other recipes using cheese.

Day 7: Celebration day. After a morning shopping at one of the busy farm shops or Farmers Markets, it will be back to The Cotswold Chef™ Food Centre to prepare a delicious early supper, with breads and petit fours for everyone in the group to enjoy. A perfect time to reflect, enjoy great food and relish what The Cotswolds' food and drink industry has to offer.

Hotel accommodation that we recommend is Bibury Court Hotel www.biburycourt.co.uk where we have negotiated a 20% reduction against the rack rate as follows:
